***If you specifically want to purchase jagua powder for creating tattoos, we recommend opting for the premixed version rather than pure jagua powder. The premixed version has been carefully formulated to provide the desired texture and ease of use for temporary tattoos

Make your own Jagua *Paste!

Jagua Powder - Freeze-Dried Ready-Mix Jagua Powder (Genipa Americana powder). For the 1st time, you can now make your own Jagua paste mix recipe by adding water and essential oil (See suggested mixing instructions below).

1oz. of powder yields about 3.5oz. of Paste

(*Jagua powder mix will have the same consistency as henna paste

and will NOT create Gel.)

Premixed jagua powder

Ingredients: Superfine freeze-dried organic Genipa Americana fruit juice, Non-GMO Xanthan Gum, Organic Cane Sugar.

The reason for adding these two other components was to avoid the problem of the powder getting clumps while mixing and painting with it and to provide a better paste flow while drawing.

Our powders come in vacuum sealed packaging and can be stored at room temperature with an extended shelf-life of up to one year! But we highly recommend to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.

Pure jagua powder

Ingredients: Pure superfine freeze-dried organic Genipa Americana Fruit Juice,

Our jagua powder is 100% pure Genipa Americana fruit. All-organic freeze-dried in our facilities with NO additives.

What does this mean? Well, it means you are open to experimentation!

Pure Jagua powder is mainly used for Body Art but can also be used for fabric dyeing, soap making, candles and of course you can mix your own Hengua mix by mixing it both with our pure Henna Powder.

WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY? PREMIXED OR PURE?

For body art or making Hengua we highly recommend that you purchase our premixed and not the Pure.
Premixed:
With our premixed powder you will get less clumps, while mixing your paste and provide you with a better paste flow while drawing
it can also be mix with your  Henna Powder. to create Hengua paste.
Pure:
Pure Jagua powder is mainly used for Body Art as is (pure) but can also be used for fabric dyeing, soap making, candles and of course you can mix your own Hengua mix by mixing it both with our pure Henna Powder.

Suggested Jagua ready-mix Paste mixing instructions

Ingredients

Tablespoons

grams

ounces

Jagua Powder

3tbs

25g

.9 oz.

Water

8tbs

75g

2.5 oz.

Essential Oil (Lavender, Cajeput or Eucalyptus oil)

½tbs

4g

.2 oz.

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Add the Jagua powder to a glass mixing bowl
  2. Add water, one tablespoon at a time. Stir between each tablespoon of water
  3. Add your essential oil – Make sure you use top quality essential oil

You may use less than 8 tbsps. of water if your preferred consistency requires less water. Just note that if you add more than 8tbsps. of water to your paste, it will take longer than 30 minutes to dry.

If you live in a dry heat climate, adding ½tbsp-3/4tbsp of sugar may be needed. You may want to add sugar to help the paste take longer to dry, ensuring it does not flake off too quickly.

Once all the ingredients are in the bowl, mix vigorously, then let it sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, stir once more to make sure all lumps are gone. That’s it, now put the paste in a cone or a bottle and start inking. Store unused paste in a freezer until next usage. This recipe yields approximately 4 oz. / 115g of paste.

Jagua Pure and Ready-Mix Powder body paint Application & Care Instructions:

  1. Apply your Jagua.
  2. It should take about 30 minutes to dry.
  3. For maximum dark and long-lasting stain results, leave the paste on for a minimum of 1 to 4 hours. * FOR BEST DARK LONG-LASTING STAIN RESULTS, USE OUR Soft Cloth Non-Woven Adhesive Tape TO KEEP YOUR DESIGN securely IN PLACE ( the Longer you keep it on, the darker the color would be .)
  1.  *Peel and remove the dried jagua powder from skin or wash it with soap and cold water. (It is better to peel off using a dry cloth to get a darker tattoo)
  2. Now Relax :) at this stage, the stain should look pale and blurry. During the next 12 to 48 hours, your new tattoo will develop and reach its final stain color after 72 hours.

Tips:

  • To preserve your stain, apply a thin layer of natural oil such as; Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, beeswax or chap-stick to your stain before any exposure to water.
  • There should be minimal exposure to pool’s chlorine, bathing, Steam rooms, Bikram (Hot)Yoga or Jacuzzi.
  • Avoid rubbing, scratching or scrubbing of any kind on the tattoo area.

*For Hengua mix, it’s recommended that you remove the paste by flaking it off the skin. It takes 24-48 hours for your Henna stain to fully mature. Avoid contact with water during this time.
